Bukovanský mlýn Hotel is located right in the center of Moravian Slovakia – everything here is literally just a few pedal strokes away. The entire complex is built in the traditional style of Moravian Slovakia. Premium accommodation, once again in the rustic Moravian Slovak style, is offered in the loft of the mill building as well as in four separate buildings – Moravian Slovak style cottages.
The mill building includes a restaurant offering a wide variety of traditional Moravian Slovak and Old Bohemian cuisine. You can enjoy confit duck leg with cabbage or leg of wild boar with rosehip sauce. And of course a cup of good wine to go with it. You will also find a traditional vaulted ceiling wine cellar with a seating area and a rotunda with a wine shop where you can taste the best wines from the wine region of Moravian Slovakia.
In the summer garden you can have a beer and specialties straight from the grill all while enjoying the beautiful view of the surrounding vineyards and of Babi lom Hill. You can have a blast playing a mini-golf tournament directly beneath the Bukovanský mlýn windmill blades and freshen up in the outdoor pool after some high-energy sports.
In recent years, a mill stable with horses and ponies and a pen with sheep have been built. You can also try mini-golf, pétanque or a massage trail for your aching feet. Our newest addition is a shooting range for recreational archery and a cute goat run with free admission. Cyclists will also take a liking to Bukovanský mlýn, as the complex takes part in the “Cyclists welcome” program and is located on the Kyjov trail.
The hotel complex is an ideal place for corporate events, summer vacations, a weekend getaway or a family celebration. Thanks to the extensive space, companies can organize various training sessions and teambuilding activities with variations of entertainment and sports programs for their employees, all topped-off with an evening wine tasting with the cellarman in the wine shop.
The hotel is also an ideal place for wedding ceremonies and celebrations, on account of the romantic environment under the mill blades and the surrounding vineyards. Visitors are drawn to the complex by its gastronomic and wine events. All around there are renowned game feasts, goose feasts with the consecration of St. Martin’s wine as well as young wine tastings. Of course, there is also the traditional wine tastings of local winegrowers and wineries, Moravian Slovak pig-slaughters as you know it from the pictures of the South Moravian countryside, schnitzel festivals and so much more. One of the most popular and visited events, however, is the Bukovanský goulash event. The gastronomic contest has already been established as a traditional May competition for the best goulash in Bukovany. The first edition of the competition took place in the year 2010, gaining enormous popularity among both participants and visitors since that time. The competition is annually attended by teams from the microregion of Babí Lom, which brings together a total of 11 villages around Kyjov, as well as other enthusiastic groups. The competing teams cook their original goulash right in front of onlookers, which is then assessed by the judges. The plentiful accompanying program that focuses both on folk tradition and folklore as well as also other genres, has also become very popular.
Come and have a rest at Bukovanský mlýn, discover the beauty of the surrounding countryside and most importantly enjoy your time away from the daily grind!
